Windows 10 update fixes connectivity bug plaguing VPNs and proxies

Microsoft today pushed out a new optional Windows ten update meant to ready internet connectedness problems that were reported by VPN and proxy users terminal week. The effect caused Windows to show a limited or no connection condition with manual or automobile-configured proxies. It too prevented some apps from connecting to the internet.

"An out-of-band optional update is now available on the Microsoft Update Catalog to address a known upshot whereby devices using a proxy, especially those using a virtual private network (VPN), might show express or no internet connection condition," a Microsoft support document for the update reads. The update applied to Windows 10 versions 1909, 1903, 1809, 1803, and 1709. The release notes for the update read:

Addresses an upshot that might display a express or no net connection condition in the notification area on devices that use a manual or automobile-configured proxy, especially with a virtual private network (VPN). Additionally, this result might preclude some devices from connecting to the cyberspace using applications that employ WinHTTP or WinINet.

Microsoft recommends that you install this optional update on PCs that accept experienced this issue. If you accept run into this problem, the update is available now via Windows Update.
